These are the most commonly seen wilderness programs. Children usually come here during their summer vacations from school, and the programs can  anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. Participants stay in a rustic setting, usually in a cabin, and enjoy activites such as canoeing, arts and crafts, team sports, performing arts such as drama and music, and many more. These programs are meant to be a vacation for children, and offer many activities to keep them busy.
